Pre-ordering is the best way to secure your handpan. The expected shipping date shown on the product page when you place your order is the date we expect to ship your handpan.

This is not a general back-in-stock date. It is the expected shipping date for new orders placed at that moment. Because some handpans receive a high number of pre-orders, newly finished instruments may already be reserved before they become available for immediate shipment. This means the expected shipping date can move further out over time as more pre-orders come in.
The back-in-stock email is only a notification
Joining the email list lets you know when your handpan comes available for immediate shipment again. It does not reserve an instrument. Depending on demand, this may take weeks, months, or in some cases the handpan may remain on pre-order for an extended period.

Yes, the Essential Series Handpan is a great choice for beginners. Its 53 cm size offers the classic handpan playing experience while still feeling easy and comfortable to play. For most beginners, 10 notes is a great place to start, giving you more melodic freedom while still keeping the instrument easy to play.
For beginners, the most popular and versatile choice is the D Minor Kurd (D Kurd 10). It has a wide emotional range, from meditative and melancholic to uplifting and joyful. All notes harmonize beautifully, so you can intuitively play without worrying about mistakes.
If you don’t have a strong preference yet, D Minor Kurd is a safe and inspiring choice. Other scales, like F Pygmy or Ashakiran scales are also beginner-friendly. Ultimately, the right handpan is the one that moves you most. Listen to the sound samples and choose the one that resonates with you.
Our handpans are built to last. With normal use, they stay perfectly in tune for 3–7+ years before needing any retuning. If a note ever drifts, simply contact us and we’ll retune it for you.
